Dance in the Vampire Bund ep2

Posted by KING OF NIGERIA | 19 Jan, 2010I have a confession to make: I didn't really watch M*A*S*H; just a few episodes here and there. Anyway, looks like this was a character exposition episode for Rio, which likely means that the other three girls, sans Kureha, because her's was episode 2, and I feel that episode 1 didn't really reveal much about Kanata, will each get one too, before the main plot starts. That comment about brass instruments, being relatively unused outside the military, caught my attention. It makes me wonder what world-changing event occurred that would cause people to stop playing brass instruments, and possibly instruments in general, like that. Also, it seems that "Amazing Grace" isn't as commonly heard as it is now. They've really nailed in the fact that this takes place in the future. I hope they start explaining what happened before.
Also, this show seems similar to Turn A Gundam, what with the post-post-apocalyptic world, "forgotten" technology, and slice of life setting. Surely, I'm not the only one that's noticed this... Right?

I know: these charts are stupid as hell, but it helps get my point across. The show isn't going to go anywhere for a while. Military outpost in a backwater village, soldiers who don't really give a shit about war, etc. Jarhead, without the chronic masturbation. Fortunately, it doesn't seem like it'll be as useless and fluffy as K-On! is. With the presence of the characters' run-down tank/mecha and the way that the plot hints that the city of Seize is really some part of postpocalyptic Japan, the show will possibly experience a genre bait-and-switch in later episodes. In other words: shit might happen. Of course, this could just turn out to be another stupid Lucky Star/Azumanga Daioh clone in a military setting.
Also, for those who haven't noticed, I'm actually trying to make posts that are more than one or two sentences long, but years of not writing much has taken its toll on me. :V
